All our surf lessons are conducted in the Marino Ballena National Park (colloquially named 'Whale Tail', due to the natural, curved sand bar - see image to the right). With that brings no crowds, safe and friendly conditions, and trained lifeguards on watch.

Warm waters (no wetsuits), calm, manageable waves await. And with the sun shining bright you'll experience the best of Costa Rica, from the comfort of your surf board, surrounded by friends.

Costa Rica is synonymous with waterfalls. Whether for you that means a short drive to the Nauyaca Falls, or one of the many local falls which we can walk to from town, the beauty remains.

Just one option of the many tours Leandro and his team can take you on, or we can direct you towards following your surf lesson experience.

Our surf lessons are 2 full hours. We'll start on the beach and get you comfortable with the basics of learning to surf. When you're ready, we'll get in the water! To begin with, we'll just surf the whitewater and replicate the surf movements we learned on land in the waves. When you've got that nailed, we'll start moving out to the green waves and you'll be surfing like a pro.

At all times you'll be close to Leandro and his team, and within sight of the lifeguards.

Classes include everything you'll need. Just bring a water bottle, some sunscreen, and a big smile. Entrance to the park (normally $7) is included too.

Group Classes

Group classes are mixed with other surfers.

Classes up to 8, 4 people per instructor.

You may have the lesson to yourselves, but if others join in you'll get to share your lesson and make some new friends.

1-2 People - $70 per person
3-4 People - $65
5-8 People - $60

You will receive a booking confirmation with meeting location

Private Classes

Private classes are just for you and your friends.

Up to 4 people per instructor.

You'll have the undivided attention of Leandro and his team. You'll progress faster and have more personalized teaching.

2-3 People - $80
4-8 People - $70
